Kim Cardoso was born near Baltimore and raised along the East Coast. She studied art and psychology then worked as a metalsmith, showing in galleries and fine stores. In the mid 1990’s she had an inexplicable calling and moved to San Francisco to become a midwife. In 2013 Kim returned to art and began exhibiting her encaustic paintings. She lives and paints in Oakland, CA in a three story ranch and continues to work in community health.
